A Associação Nacional dos Exportadores de Sucos Cítricos – CitrusBR informa que levantamento realizado por auditorias em cada uma das empresas associadas e posteriormente consolidado por auditoria externa independente apontou que os estoques globais de suco de laranja brasileiro em posse das associadas na data de corte de safra em 30 de Junho de 2013 eram de 766 mil toneladas convertidas em FCOJ equivalente a 66 Brix.
Para efeito comparativo, informa também que os estoques globais de suco de laranja brasileiro no mesmo momento em anos anteriores eram de:
30 de Junho de 2008: 456 mil tons, ou equivalente a 20 semanas de consumo;
30 de Junho de 2009: 439 mil tons, ou equivalente a 18 semanas de consumo;
30 de Junho de 2010: 249 mil tons, ou equivalente a 11 semanas de consumo;
30 de Junho de 2011: 214 mil tons, ou equivalente a 7 semanas de consumo;
30 de Junho de 2012: 662 mil tons, ou equivalente a 29 semanas de consumo;
30 de Junho de 2013: 766 mil tons, ou equivalente a 35 semanas de consumo.
Baseado em sua estimativa de safra de laranja para cinturão citrícola de São Paulo e Triângulo Mineiro para a safra 2013-14 publicada em 15 de Maio de 2013 com produção total de 268,350 milhões de caixas de laranja de 40,8 kg, com um consumo de 40 milhões de caixas de laranja no mercado in natura e com um processamento de aproximadamente 228,350 milhões de caixas por todas as indústrias a um rendimento industrial de 270 caixas de laranja 40,8 kg para produção de 1 tonelada de FCOJ 66 Brix (a pior media da história devido às chuvas excessivas no período inicial de processamento) , a CitrusBr estima que a produção total de suco de laranja na safra em curso seja da ordem de 845,7 mil tons de FCOJ Equivalente a 66 Brix.
Com isso e em um cenário de estabilidade das exportações de suco de laranja em baixos patamares na ordem de 1.080.000 tons de FCOJ Equivalente e um consumo adicional de outras 55.000 toneladas no mercado brasileiro, a CitrusBr estima que em 30 de Junho de 2014 os estoques globais de suco de laranja brasileiro venham a cair para aproximadamente 476,6 mil tons correspondente a 22 semanas de consumo no mercado mundial.
Para se calcular o volume de suco brasileiro disponível para comercialização, as auditorias realizam a medição do suco físico em metros cúbicos e/ou por painel de controle. Também são calculados e somados os totais de suco em movimento, seja em caminhões ou navios. Soma-se ainda o volume de suco nos terminais localizados nas cidades de Santos (Brasil), Roterdã (Holanda) Ghent e Antuérpia (Bélgica), Flórida e New Jersey (EUA), Toyohashi (Japão) e New Castle (Austrália), bem como suco armazenado em tambores em terminais de terceiros nos locais de destino.

The Brazilian Association of Citrus Exporters – CitrusBR informs that data gathered by audit firms in each of the associated companies, and later consolidated by an independent audit firm also, indicated that the global inventories of Brazilian orange juice on June 30th, 2013, were at 766 thousand tons of FCOJ 66 Brix Equivalent.
For comparative purposes, CitrusBR also informs that the global inventories of Brazilian orange juice on the same period in the recent years were at:
June 30th, 2008: 456 thousand tons, or equivalent to 20 weeks of consumption;
June 30th, 2009: 439 thousand tons, or equivalent to 18 weeks of consumption;
June 30th, 2010: 249 thousand tons, or equivalent to 11 weeks of consumption;
June 30th, 2011: 214 thousand tons, or equivalent to 7 weeks of consumption;
June 30th, 2012: 662 thousand tons, or equivalent to 29 weeks of consumption;
June 30th, 2013: 766 thousand tons, or equivalent to 35 weeks of consumption.
Based on the orange crop estimate for the Brazilian Citrus Belt (São Paulo and Triângulo Mineiro) for the 2013-14 season, published on May 15th, 2013, with a total orange production of 268.350 million boxes of 40.8 kgs, an average consumption of 40 million boxes in the fresh market and processing of 228.350 million boxes from all of the industries together, at an industrial yield of 270 orange boxes of 40.8 kgs to produce 1 ton of FCOJ 66 Brix Equivalent (the worst historical average due to excessive rain in the beginning of the processing period), CitrusBR estimates that the total orange juice production in the ongoing season will be at approximately 845.7 thousand tons of FCOJ 66 Brix Equivalent.
Hereupon, with a scenario of stability for the orange juice exports, which are in a low level at around 1,080,000 tons of FCOJ 66 Brix Equivalent, and an additional consumption of other 55,000 tons in the Brazilian market, CitrusBR estimates that, on June 30th, 2014, the global inventories of Brazilian orange juice will be at 476.6 tons, equivalent to 22 weeks of consumption in the global market.
To calculate the volume of Brazilian orange juice available for commercialization, the audit firms physically measured the juice volume in cubic meters and/or through a control panel. The audit firms also take into consideration the orange juice in movement – in trucks or ships. Additionally, the juice in the terminals in the cities of Santos (Brazil), Rotterdam (The Netherlands), Ghent and Antwerp (Belgium), Florida and New Jersey (USA), Toyohashi (Japan) and New Castle (Australia) are taken into account, as well as the juice stored in drums or third parties’ terminals located in the juice’s destination.
