Orange juice closes with highest level in eight weeks on the New York Stock Exchange

Storm in sight. Yesterday, the possibility that a new tropical storm is might form in the Atlantic Ocean and damage Florida orange orchards boosted juice prices to their highest level in nearly eight weeks on the New York Stock Exchange. According to Bloomberg, weather forecasts indicate that the storm will gain strength until tomorrow. Thus, the contracts maturing in November rose 300 points and closed the session trading at US$ 1.3915 per pound. In the spot market of Sao Paulo, where few businesses are currently registered, the box of 90 pounds of oranges destined for industries remained in R$ 14.77, no change in the last five days. The box of oranges sold in the fresh market stayed in R$14.84, up 0.61% in five days.
